Are you interested in energy efficiency, big data, analytics, or cloud technologies? Come work with us at KGS Buildings, LLC as an Engineering Intern to deliver an innovative cloud-based, automated building analytics platform to building owners and service providers seeking costs savings and improved building performance.
- Engineering Interns assist Project Engineers and Building Analysts to configure building data and metadata for our automated analytics platform and assist in mechanical engineering services to support our customers. Qualified applicants should have some basic mechanical engineering knowledge and significant experience with Excel. Practical knowledge of building HVAC systems is preferred. The best candidates have some experience in the controls industry, HVAC, or contracting or significant coursework in mechanical engineering.
- QA/Software Interns assist our QA and Development teams with functional SaaS testing, reporting/tracking bugs, and bug fixing. Qualified applicants have some prior QA and development work experience with functional test plans, regression testing, bug/task tracking, debugging, ASP.NET, Visual Studio 2008/10, HTML, Javascript, and CSS, amongst other skills.
- Software Interns assist our Development team with front end and back end development tasks. Qualified applicants have some prior development work experience with ASP.NET, C# SQL, Visual Studio 2008/10, AJAX, Linq, HTML, Javascript, and CSS, amongst other skills. It is important that candidates have a basic understanding of database architectures and scaleable cloud based platforms.

Our Building Analysts configure building data for our automated analytics platform and review the results for clients, helping them justify repair and efficiency projects. If you are interested in improving the operation of buildings while having an impact on their energy use, then look no further. Qualified applicants should have some practical knowledge of how building HVAC systems work, and they should also be comfortable drawing conclusions from numerical or graphical controls data. Candidates may have technical experience in the controls industry, HVAC management, or contracting. Alternatively, candidates may have a B.A. or M.A. in Building Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
KGS Software Engineers collaborate with our building science team to create and extend features on Clockworks. Working on our platform, software engineers gain experience in a variety of cutting edge web and database technologies, scalable cloud solutions, n-tier architecture, systems integration, big data, mobile application development, and user experience. Qualified individuals have degrees and years of experience in computer science and or related engineering fields using languages such as ASP.NET, C#, SQL, Javascript, Web Services, and more. KGS QA Engineers work diligently to properly test, track, and report on all aspects of Clockworks. Qualified individuals should have experience with functional testing, regression testing, unit testing, user experience, writing test plans, bug tracking, source code control, change management, build and release management, processes, and overall best qa practices. There are a lot of moving pieces, so let's make sure all the gears are greased and running efficiently, and help impact buildings for the better.
Our Systems Engineers work on a multitude of projects integrating building controls systems with an ever expanding building analytics platform. If you love both software and the buildings industry, and have a passion for solving complex data integration puzzles, then you're in the right place. Qualified individuals should have experience and knowledge working with and programming various controls systems from vendors such as Schneider, Johnson Controls, Siemens, and more. Candidates should also have a full understanding of data protocols including but not limited to; BACnet, TCP/IP, Modbus, and LON. The ability to write software and services to noninvasively integrate is a vital component to extracting big data for analytics, so come join us, and the challenge.
